I have an amazing, beautiful wife
and three awesome children.

I am a sixth-grade ELL teacher in an urban enclave of Phoenix, Arizona. It's a beautiful barrio, but you wouldn't guess that if all you examined were test scores and data charts. Throughout my career, I have worked with students in doing community service, painting murals, filming documentaries and running a 1:1 student-to-computer framework on multiple platform).

I have also taught professional development, coached teachers, and created a personalized professional development site. I have a Master's Degree in Educational Technology, where I earned the Educational Technology Graduate Student of the Year Award.

I write both fiction and non-fiction (ranging from personal memoirs to practical teaching books to young adult fiction). In addition, I blog regularly at Education Rethink and contribute to several other blogs.

I conduct workshops, keynotes and consulting. My desire is to explore to engage in an authentic dialogue. I admit that I'm not an expert or an educational superstar. I'm just a guy trying to figure out life and my place within it. However, I enjoy sharing what wisdom I've gained with those who are up for the conversation.
